Red rice to me was another one of those items that I got just because I like that it’s not the standard color. I don’t know if I’ve ever eaten red rice before making it myself. I honestly don’t think so, but it’s hard to be entirely sure. Either way, it really caught my eye in the store and it caught my eye on the plate, so I would say it delivered exactly what was expected.
It has a bit of a more earthy kind of flavour to me than white rice, although it is not that different in the end. In terms of ease of preparation, it is virtually the same as cooking other rice. You totally got this! You can do it! I believe in you! And before you know it, you’ll be plating up extravagant looking dishes with new ingredients and enjoying even more new foods!
Red rice is the rice with the highest nutritional value of all. That’s nothing to scoff at! I am gonna be honest here with you though, I am not worrying about the exact milligrams of vitamins and minerals in my food, I just want it to taste delicious. And look delicious, especially in this case. (Is there something super important you think I’ve forgotten? Comment below.)
In terms of recipes to use this with, just use it as you would use regular white rice. The only caveat is that you can pay special attention to contrasting colors with this one. Make some white fish, or some shrimp to make the rice into a main. It is also suitable to use in a salad as a side dish.
